You may also like to think about and consider regular giving. The Diocese of Gloucester seeks to offer a Christian presence at the heart of all our towns and villages: by our wonderful buildings; by worshipping together; by serving our communities and by sharing our faith. This valuable contribution to our community has a cost, of which 75 per cent is met by personal donations.
For churches to survive and grow, they rely on regular donations, so that they can plan confidently for the future. The Parish Giving Scheme has been set up to help them best manage regular donations. If they wish, donors can commit in principle to increase the gift they give to their church annually in line with inflation. This choice could have a huge impact on church life.
Through donors' generous commitments, churches can be assured of a regular, tax efficient source of income which has the capacity to increase with the cost of living, yet involves virtually no administration. With the help of the Gloucester Diocesan Board of Finance (GDBF), donors benefit from a system that is secure, confidential and easy to use, while supporting the Church today and for the future.
The scheme is supported by the Diocesan Bishop, Right Revd Martyn Snow.
